Measuring your Windows & Doors
Measuring your windows and doors couldn’t be easier; you just need to take 2 simple measurements on each window and door in order to find your price. It really is that easy. To ensure you are measuring the correct area of your windows and doors, below we have a quick guide to measuring your windows and doors.
How to measure your windows
The two measurements needed for your windows are the width and the height. You need to measure to and from the furthest edges of your existing window frames. Most windows are set into reveals, so be sure to measure the exact width and height of the reveal itself.
Many windows have a window sill, so be sure to include the window sill in the height measurement.
How to measure your doors
Measuring your doors is easy. The main question we are usually asked is which part of the door do you measure. You need to measure to the outside of the door frame; this is the same for the width and the height. For the height, you just measure from the outside top edge of the door frame down to the floor.
As you can see from the above, measuring your windows could not be easier. Now you know exactly which area of the window to measure you are all set to save money on your replacement windows with Fitter Windows.
